I’m Not A Magician’ - Says Ancelotti Amid Everton’s Poor Home Records

Everton have not been good at Goodison Park this season and head coach Carlo Ancelotti has insisted he does not have answers to why his side is not getting the necessary results at home as he is not a magician.

The Toffees have been good on the road this term but their form at Goodison Park is nothing to write home about.

Everton have won only five Premier League games at home this season, drawing four and losing nine; a record which is only better than that of Burnley, West Bromwich Albion, Sheffield United and Fulham.

The former Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain head coach believes his team could have won the league title this season if not for their poor home records.

Speaking to the media ahead of Everton’s home game against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday, Ancelotti was asked why he has not been able to solve his side’s form at home.

The Italian head coach said: "Because I'm not a magician, I am only a trainer. It's difficult for me to explain this double face of the team. If we were able to keep the same results at home (as away) we could win the title."

He added:"We have to improve the quality of the squad for the next season this is for sure. But you can play football in different ways, not only with the quality you can get the result.

“It's true that I won a lot of trophies, but I don't know how many trophies I won for the quality, instead for the spirit, for the attitude, for the sacrifice , or the concentration, for the personality.

"It’s not only a matter of quality."
